RAM - Mission Statement



RAM, Inc is a non-profit, charitable organization. As such it operates mostly in the Nome area, including the Bering Strait Region, and in other places as required.

Our Stated Mission is:

  • Advancement of the Radio Art as applied to Amateur Radio.
  • Teaching, promoting and facilitating the use of Amateur Radio.
  • Providing a reserve of experienced Radio Operators, equipment and facilities for times of emergency.
  • Enhancing goodwill for Amateur Radio in this area and worldwide.
  • Participating in Sports and Recreational events that involve Amateur Radio.
  • Providing facilities and a relaxed atmosphere for social gathering of Radio Amateurs, as well as places to build, experiment and enjoy radio.
  • To maintain an independent status from other groups so as to preserve its different social atmosphere and flavor.

In order to achieve the above, RAM, Inc will build and construct, to the best of its abilities, facilities such as a clubhouse, repeaters, and Mobile units. It will hold picnics and hamfests, conventionss and bazars. It will from time to time endow students in pursuits that involve the radio arts, or are complimentary.

As a Charitable organization, Ram, Inc., may also participate in any suitable charity, such a food drives, soup kitchens, etc., by itself or in association with other charities.
